    Quilted Movers Blanket for UQ

    I purchased a Movers Furniture Blanket http://amzn.com/B000Q1A5W6
Do you think it could be made into an under quilt?
I am also thinking of putting a reflective Mylar
blanket between my makeshift UQ and hammock.

Save your money for something better. I found one on the side ofthe road and it is stiff and heavy so will not conform to your shape and likely sag leaving you cold. It is quilted through so each stitch will leak air and lose much of its insulation capability. Better to modify a sleeping bag IMHO.

We have access to an unlimited supply, we have used one for that purpose, it was not great but okay, as in anything is better than nothing...You could pick up something from the Salvation Army that would be cheaper and lighter.

We consider the moving pads to be a one use item. They do repel some moisture, they do fall apart if you try to wash them. My dog sleeps on one when we are car camping, I cover the seats on picknick benches with them. They weigh a ton when wet. I put one under my hammock, so if I fall I have a little padding. I also cover the back seat of my vehicle with them, so I can throw out the whole blanket when the trip is over.

    Yupp ^^^ x2

The one I have is VERY heavy, I couldn't imagine lugging it around, let alone trying to lash it up underneath the hammock. And yes, the stiffness will create air leaks which kill the insulating value.

In comparison, even a sleeping bag would be more effective in regard to both points of concern.

That's why I posted my question here. You are the experts.
Glad I still have a cheap $10.00 Wally World Mummy bag I may try to use.
    Thanks for the answers.
