Has anyone ever had a Whoopie sling fail.
Has anyone ever had a Whoopie sling fail.
God gave me two good legs and two good eyes I better use them.
Someone asked a similar question the other day (I believe they just said has anyone had anything fail, as in the material not the knots) and last I looked no one had any first hand account of it.

My main concern is the toggle; I've already warned my ground-dwelling buddies that while the ease of pulling a toggle and dropping me to the ground may look like a weakness, them sleeping with their heads at the same level of my boot could be said to be a similar weakness.
Thanks thought I saw something about it but could not find it.

Hey Otter, like Old Rag Freeze said, there was a thread a few days ago in the Suspension sub-forum I think. The bottom line was (as far as I recall) there was no material failures. The only failures I've ever heard of were with knots (which we don't use), on a sling that had severe abrasion, or one that had been hung on something sharp.
If the toggle concerns you, you can always substitute a carabiner in its place.
thanks smokebait

Side note, which given the title isn't a huge segue; I got to try out mine a bunch over the last two weeks and holy you-know-what (this is a VERY family friendly forum it seems, good for you guys) these things are cool. I've already impressed a few friends, and most are shocked that such a cool solution exists! I can't believe I ever bothered with the stock suspension on my GTs.
