    DIY Hammock Idea

    Anyone ever try to make a hammock out of one of these

    I'm curious how it worked if you have or if anyone knows of a similar fabric that can be bought by the yard. What do you think? Possible? Worth it?

    I've never tried it. It doesn't look very plausible to me... a reinforced space blanked probably wouldn't hold much weight.

    Yeah those things are mostly Mylar I believe, they may have an insulating layer too, but I don't think it would hold this big guy.

    Blackwolf found some sort of mylar blanket material that might work.

    Theres quite a lot of reflective fabrics on the market now and its something I will try one day-that is making a hammock from it.

    Jerven actually sell their fabric from their bags. Some of the Guys over here have made clones of them that really work well.

    I've had 4 different types now, I'd say that 2 oz reflective PU coated ripstop nylon or polyester would be good as a search term for it.

    on that one no way. but the breathable one might. whipped ends only id presume.
