    Hello from Germany

    Hi Folks,

as a kid I was always playing in the woods. As a youth camping was not only fun but also the only thing I could afford. Since I work in an office I need the outdoors for recreation. 2 years ago a friend of mine introduced me to hanging and I am hooked ever since. Most of the time we do only overnights, because it’s not 100% legal here in Germany. To spend the night in the woods we keep it stealthy and leave no trace (… and no bonfire!).
The Hammock community in Germany is hard to find (If there is any!) and since I am following Shug on Youtube I thought joining HF would be a good start to get in touch with other hangers. I am looking forward to browse through the forum and find new ideas and inspirations.

Enjoy the woods and respect nature!

Welcome to the forum. There are a few other hangers in germany. Maybe they'll see this and connect with you.

Welcome aloft from SC. I was stationed in Germany three times while in the military, and I sure do miss it. I loved the food, country and people. Happy hanging.

Guten Tag from Kaiserslautern! My son and I have hung in the Palatinate Forest and we didn't have to stealth hang. Here's the link: http://www.trekking-pfalz.de/de/

I'm trying to find some time to go hiking there again in April.

    Welcome to the forums!
