I use the soft shackle Prussic. Works great.

I'd recommend a 500# rating for a ridgeline biner. Reason being that there have been, just a few, ridgeline failures in commercial hammocks that use 500# test line. You can go with less but you increase the odds of snapping it.

K, I had an idea this morning that using larks head loops and prussics on all my tarp attachments and ridgeline that will eliminate all hardware from the whole shebang. I will give it a try and post a thread if it works out.

A postal scale may not register

the weight of a small soft shackle made up of 600-1000 lb rated dyneema, spectra or vectran (tms). That is how light they are, <1g.
But, you can also use a short, secure toggle. You'll be able to remove it faster than you will be able to get a well-set soft shackle opened.
