Thru-Hiking the AT

oh as far as the approach trail goes i going to do it most likely my only thru hike and dont want to miss anything even if it is pain in the butt for little payoff

well, if you're going to do that, keep your eyes out for people who unload gear and food. Many do that. Just unload the pack and say, "to hell with it."
I know many who scored great food and tents this way!!
