If money was no object... One of everything from each of the vendors... But since that's not going to happen...
Live, Laugh, Love, if that doesn't work. Load, Aim and Fire, repeat as necessary...

I second that. After falling prey to the bug I caught, I have developed quite a want list that grows daily.

Luckily, I learned long ago that it's cheaper in the long run to get the right stuff, that you want, right up front. That, and the ability to sell some things here on the site to fund other purchases, has provided me with a near perfect setup (only thing I still need to fund is a cuben fiber tarp).

I'm also always experimenting and tweaking in small ways, but the following is what works for me.

    Summer Setup (typically backpacking)
    Hammock: Darien UL, 11 foot
Tarp: HG Cuben Fiber 4 Season Tarp, modded for side pull-outs to be at the RR spreader bars
    TQ: 20* extra wide Burrow
    UQ: 20* Incubator
Stove: Ti-tri Caldera Cone w/ 12-10 stove. Swap out for Soto Micro-regulator canister stove when alcohol stoves aren't an option.
Cook kit: .9 liter Titanium Evernew pot and long-handled titanium spoon (I typically go with freezer-bag cooking)

Winter Setup (when I can use a pulk or car to get my gear around)
    Hammock: RidgeRunner
Tarp: HG Cuben Fiber Winter Tarp
    TQ: 0* Burrow
    UQ: Winter Full-length Lynx
    Stove: Primus Omni-fuel Ti
Cook kit: Set of MSR Pots/Pans

too many options of gear to pick just one

Who cares about showers, gourmet food, using flush toilets. Just keep on walking and being away from it all.

There are times that the only way you can do something is to do it alone.

I started with a ENO DN and Slap Strap Pros, no Tarp, a REI pad and a North Face Cats Meow. If starting over I'd get a ENO DN and Slap Strap Pros, no Tarp, a REI pad and a North Face Cats Meow. I've had too much fun with every little "Tweak" to start with anything else.
