    Why Blackbirds?

Just wondering--I was on the 'for sale' section and saw a LOT of Blackbirds for sale. Why is that? I find they are an EXCELLENT hammock.

Maybe trying the Ridge Runner? I had to try one myself, but alas, I could keep only one and The Blackbird won that day!

Well you get that many people purchasing them, you are bound to see a few flip. Seems a testament to its popularity.

+1 on selling the BB to get a RR. That's what I did....kinda miss it, until I lay in the RR....

People here use multiple hammocks. They are selling the Black Bird to fund their next purchase. Or, more likely, they are tired of listening to their spouse complain about the 5 other unused hammocks in the house

    or

It seems that a lot of folks own more than one. They try a single layer or a double layer then decide which they keep.

    just an observation....

This was me. I actually had two BBs. I love it, but didn't need the variations. Sold one to fund the purchase of a Darien UL.

It's probably one of, if not the #1 seller of people coming to this forum and looking for a "camping" hammock. The other one with a lot of sales would be the Hennessys. As people experiment more and go different routes, they sell them.

For example, lets say you'd never hammock camped. Wouldn't you rather try a $200 WBBB than a $400 Clark?

I started off getting a WBBB. I got two more, then sold one to a friend when I went to get a TTTG SB. I have a couple of DBs and a WBRR too (along with 8 other no net ones).

I also think the economy has a little to do with it. As you can tell from the "For Sale" section used WBBBs go fast and retain their value. So if you need cash, need it to be quick and get back nearly what you spent, the WBBB is a good choice to sell.
