    Rope Marking pen

I had an acid free marker.......but the dog ate it, among other things, yet he has a sweet tooth for pens.

Anyhow, without going off the mountain( to the big smoke) the only other thing I might be able to use is a soft charcoal pencil. Do you think it'll be ok with amsteel and zing-it ? Maybe these products arent as susceptible anyhow and I dont need to worry?

If you're talking about small layout marks for splicing, many of us use a Sharpie marker.

It should be good for your dog since it's nontoxic...but I wouldn't want to do the cleanup afterwards.

I also use a sharpie. Easy, readily available and works great.

If you have a dealer in electrical supplies near you check with them. There is a nylon marker they make to use with zip tie tags that will probably work also.
