For a ridgline whoopie, you'd move the bury up about 80" or so, that would give you your minimum adjustment length, then your max length would be however much line you use after that, usually no more than 130". Problems with that is it leaves the bury and excess tail hanging in the middle of the hammock.
If you made a ucr for the ridgeline, now you can make it as normal, and have the bury at the end of the hammock along with the excess tail, out of the way. Much nicer.
To connect either, you'd larks head the one end to one end of the hammock, and clip it on the other side, the adjustable side, with a carabiner or soft shackle right to the suspension lines where it meets the hammock

You could splice the ridgeline into the suspension lines attached to the hammock, but again you'd have twice the bury length...

Ever see a loopie sling, It's an adjustable loop that yu could add to the end of a whoopie/ucr instead of a fixed eye...

Boy have you lost me. I understand that loopie thing, and I think you have helped me to figure out how I would make a UCR with an adjustable loop at the end as well.

The 7/64" I ordered (what I used for my UCRs) came in a week & a half ago. I made my UCRs the same afternoon, and have hung on them a bunch since. They work GREAT! Simple to make & simple to use, light, quick to make, quick to put up, quick to take down, supremely functional & adjustable. All pros & no cons for/from me.
Thanks again Fallkniven for your tutorial on these

I made a few of these and had them fail 3 times because I didn't have a good method to tighten it from both sides, the prussik worked absolutely perfectly. I don't see a reason for anyone to ever make a conventional whoopie after using a pair of these bad boys.

I have an 8 inch UCR on my DD frontline, and its been perfect for around 3/4 of a year.

But we just did a 10" ucr for a buddy of mine, on an ENO double deluxe and he really wanted to test it, somehow, one side totally failed! I was shocked!

The only had one previous hang on them and we did the exact thing before and it worked flawlessly.

I would include some photos but its all at his place right now.
But even with a slippery half hitch as security, somehow the line inside the UCR snaped and melted on its way out.

    7/64 amsteel by the way.

I've had a 10" bury slip on me to. Been having good luck with a 12"-13" bury. Remember, the line shrinks about 3" for every 10". So you want to make sure the finished bury is 12", not your first measurement. I'd make a 16" mark, that should give you about 12''-13" finished bury.
