Huh, I'm having an issue right now with GT. Not them, but the tracking number they provided for my shipment. Email says it's UPS, but the number keeps returning "not found". On a whim, I tried over at USPS and found it, but with no tracking information.

Keeping my fingers crossed here for a shipment sooner rather than later.
I prefer to remain an enigma.

    Update

Update: just checked tracking again and the data has magically appeared! According to USPS, it's out for delivery today. While I'm still not a fan of USPS after nearly a week of no tracking updates, I am a HUGE fan of HammockGear and am looking forward to the Burrow.

More to come when I actually open the mailbox tonight and see the package.

What a relief. I saw the same information and was about to call them for verification. Thanks for the good news!

I've read the whole thread. JRB's experience is overwhelming, and worth taking if you can afford, as Pan can, to take the long view. Insuring is pricey, but shifts risk. HG is explicit on who bears the default risk. If HG bore the risk, every customer's cost would be higher.

I'll add an anecdote, one with a happy ending.

A PM parcel with DC was confirmed delivered. Hmm. Had someone taken it from the curbside mailbox? Had the box been too big for the box and the carrier left it beside the mailbox post, for someone to snatch? Did I check all the doors of the house?

None of the above. I filed a complaint. Maybe independently, local USPS branch found that the parcel HAD BEEN DELIVERED, but it seems to the wrong address, a true mis-delivery by the carrier. When that happens in this country the unintended recipient usually returns it, and promptly, for correct delivery. My parcel was delivered a couple of days later.

All that said: Evaluate your risk aversion. If it is high, then pay for DC, even for inexpensive items. Or insure, too, though I find the insurance premium greater than the actuarial risk, taking the long view.

BTW: Rushed UPS and FedeX deliverers can mis-deliver, too. Confuse, in the dark, 1234A with 1234B, both with their own dry porches, one unused during months away on vacation, and her neighbor may wait that long, or file a claim for a lost package.

Congratulations! I too am becoming/are a huge fan of HG and most the forums dealers. I deal with business large and small around the world and truly have not seen a industry packed full of top notch dealers. I think it's time to turn this frown upside down and return to my usually positive self.

Well, I checked the mail earlier this evening and the 20* Burrow was there! I took it out for a quick try just laying down on my bed. Woke up an hour later, not intending to sleep. Great quilt!

This more than likely means that your package was picked up by UPS and will be delivered at the last leg of the trip by USPS. The new service is called Smart Post and is done by all carriers to allow USPS priority packages to fly on the other carriers planes if in turn the USPS will do final delivery on any package they send our way. At any rate the info will only appear once the package actually gets to a USPS point of orgin.
    Where ever you go,
    There you are.
