I've been following this with Wawhiker, not watched this latest one yet. Need to get my chores done and then I can kick back for ten and see how the first test went.

Yeah I've been following him also. His set up is super sweet. I have been lusting over a similar set up. The big hold back has been the lack of snow.

That is cool, haven't seen that tarp before. Wish we would get some cold weather around here to get some more time in with my smokehouse.

That's not a tarp. It is the MSR Twin Brothers tent that he uses without the poles that came with it.

It is certainly a good reasonably lightweight setup he has. Although with it being nylon, extra care needs to be taken for spark control. I also noticed that the ends on this tent angle back towards the middle. His Blackbird just fit inside the tent.

Looking forward to his first actual trip report with this setup.

    Cheers

Great setup. Thanks for posting the link.
I looked at the MSR twin Brothers tent before deciding to go custom.
I wanted something a little longer.

Not familiar with the MSR or the fella but he's happy with his new setup.
I'm trying to put together a lightweight setup where i can sit or lie in the hammock while the stove is going.Only part way there yet.

And that's the reason I can't wait for my smokehouse tarp! Though here is apparently a bit of a learning curve with cylinder based stoves...
