Question Narrowed down my first Hammock Choice!!

    Good morning!

I first wanted to say thank you to anyone and everyone that has contributed valuable and wise advice on these forums. One can get sucked into lurrking threads for hours on end!

In short, I am taking a wonderful 3-4 day kayak trip down the Illinois River with my wonderful partner and we plan on camping along the way. A good friend of ours suggested hammock camping and as he shows and informs me more about this absolutely awesome method of camping, I find myself getting more and more hooked on the concept.

So far my research on what my first hammock to buy is narrowd down to the Warbonnet Black Bird double layer 1.7 or the Jungle Hammock from www.mosquitohammock.com

A bit of info on myself: I am just shy of 6'7 and weigh roughly 245 pounds. My friend allowed me to try his blackbird that we setup at the park and I fit quite comfortably in it. The Jungle Hammock on mosquitohammock.com is rather appealing as well not only due to the price but due to the nice fly that comes with it as well! Price is not a HUGE concern of mine but seeing as I will be buying two of everything I do want to get the best product for my money.

I am torn due to the blackbird having some amazing features like the ridgeline but I know other hammocks can be altered to suit the needs of the camper. I am not totally thrilled on the DIY concept, YET, as I am brand new to hammock campiing.

I am hoping some of you have tried the jungle hammock from that site and can give me feedback on whether its a worthy first buy or not, otherwise I'll lean towards the blackbird and spread out my gear purchases to suit the trips I have planned.

I am a sponge my friends, advise to your hearts content and I shall soak the knowledge!

    Big Box or Cottage Industry.

When cost is not an issue, then quality certainly shouldn't be.

Choice is obvious. Brandon wins again

Edit*Thought we were comparing Beyer and WB

    Brandon still wins

So nothing really said on the mosquito jungle hammock yet so Im thinking of putting that to the side.

I looked up the danger bird and it looks really nice. I like the customization on dream hammocks alot.

Yet time and time again I keep seeing that notorious WBBB over and over again!

So now Im thinking danger bird or WBBB?

Thanks so much for the advice so far!

As far as cost not being an option it sort of isn't..I am definitely wanting quality over cost of course but not wanting to break my wallet either....I plan on doing that with gear and stuff so no worries about that lol

Between the two, WBBB for sure. +1 on the suggestion to consider an 11 foot Dangerbird.
