That's an awesome looking quilt! So, only 10 to get to that level eh? That gives me some hope.

The colour is definitely different then I was expecting, because the fabric has a semi-transparent attribute, the white down feathers washes out the tan. It’s a cool effect around the seams!

No classes but I’m good with drafting docs if you’re not in a hurry. In the meantime, I may be able to help shorten the “10 Quilt” learning curve! I never use the term “right way” to describe anything I do but here are a couple of “Process Improvements” that made the job easier for me!

1: Adopting a good DMS (Down Management System) . The “baggie-per-baffle” technique ensures an even distribution of feathers (I will “Step-by-step” this if anyone’s interested?). Tent & Shopvac minimizes the mess and potential feather-loss.

    I promise...those are only feathers

2: Cut Synthetic fabrics with a Soldering Gun! I used to take hours taping fabric to the floor, laying out patterns and cutting with scissors or cutting wheels… Now I use the Weller and templates for repeatable shapes (panels, baffle walls…). The cuts are quick and sealed automatically since the fabric is melted apart…no fraying & clean edges!

Hey Jayson, it’s been to long my friend! We need to hit Valens for night or two so I can show this puppy off!

Sounds good. I will be up for a night or two once my new quilts get here from Jollygreen. Hoping a week or so. I will be in touch via PM. I just converted a buddy to the trees as well.

You're docs are awesome no question! I do have an UQ and a TQ project in the very near future and any help would be appreciated help!

I am already looking at the Weller gun since the measuring and cutting of the fabric tends to easily be the worst part for me.

Well if you need anything, I'm just down the street (hwy 401) If your equipped for winter, you should come out for a hang and see this stuff in person? I can sit by a campfire and chat about DIY until everyone’s turned in and I'm sitting in the dark talking to myself and the odd interest squirrel!.. meaning, we tend to do a lot of Gear, DIY & bushcraft “show & tell” on the local 1-2 nighters.

I share your dislike for measuring and cutting fabirc, the gun will help for sure!!

I am on board for that! Brian Willan has been trying to get me out forever. So, it is most certainly a resolution to attend one winter and one summer hang in 2013.

How well it is holding down?

I've heard that EightD (previous name) had some issues with leaking and I'm very much on the fence between this and M90.
