Need help deciding on 20 degree TQ: HG vs. UGQ with Resist Down

I'm going back and forth between 20 degree versions of the Hammock Gear and Underground Quilts version of a top quilt. The quilt will replace a 20 degree synthetic sleeping bag for use in backpacking and kayaking. I'll probably go long length (I'm 6'1"), 1 oz overfill. I plan this as a 4-season set-up for here in Ohio, at least until I get a summer quilt. I'll use this with my 3-season Jarbidge UQ for now. Plan on getting the snap version so i can vent in warmer weather or use on the ground when need be (I'm a side and stomach sleeper on the ground).

    OK, my dilemma:

I see a possible advantage in the Resist Down in the UGQ version. Can't get that at HG.

Absent Resist the UGQ is $10 cheaper (so if all else is equal...).

I see HG is 900 fill power vs. 850 at UGQ. Does the difference have any practical value?

I see HG as the more popular here -- maybe just been around longer or maybe it is just the best.

HG is in Ohio just 30 minutes down the road -- so I like supporting local and maybe could pick up to save shipping.

All that said, I'd love any thoughts of advantages of one over the other -- including the possible value of Resist Down if that's the only meaningful difference. I know either one will be great but one still may be better than the other, at least in some small way.

Any other suggestions are also welcome.

It's really a pretty close comparison. If you're in very damp conditions on a regular basis, it may be worth going with the resist down. Otherwise, support local and go with HammockGear. 850 vs 800 fill isn't going to be a huge difference.

Either will treat you very well.

If you have questions, I'm sure either of these vendors would respond to your questions if you call them. I know UGQ was very responsive to my questions and candid about the products.

Anyone have experience with Resist down? In TQ, sleeping bag, or otherwise?

Stormcrow is also the same he makes really good stuff. He runs hammock gear. Oh also the higher the fill power the lighter the quilt has to be to reach a certain temp rating. For example If I get an top quilt from stormcrow who runs hammock gear he uses 900fp of down goodness so his quilt will be lighter than 850fp down goodness that is resistant to water that UGQ sells. So it all depends on your needs. If you are going to stick to Hammock gear put it in a dry bag because wet down is never good because it looses it warm fluffy goodness and is really hard to dry. But with Under Ground Quilts you can be a little less careful around water but careful none the less because it is not water proof. It all depends on needs and situation. Give them both a shout and talk to them they are both really awesome.

Went with HG 20 degree Burrow

I decided to go with the Hammockgear 20 degree Burrow. Who knows, some day I may regret not getting the UGQ with Resist down, but I figured so many have been so happy with HG products, and they're just a 30 minute drive, that this tipped the scales. Thanks for the input everyone.
