Bringing your Alcohol Stove on the next cold weather trip doesnt sound like a good idea. Most alcohol stoves wont perform well in the cold. Best would be white gas, or try and throw your canister in your sleeping bag with you to warm it up first.
I would be inclined to disagree, a pressurized alky might need some extra care but a wick style works very well and is my go to in cold weather.
Directionally challenged...comicly so.
