Love the idea of peace, solitude, and mostly lack of insects with Winter hanging. I also enjoy campfires, and they become more necessary for a Winter hanging.

My personal best is 15 degrees last winter. I couldn't test any colder without driving or flying a fur piece. Looks like this winter is equally non-existent here in NJ - beginning to wonder why I bought a 0* Incubator with 2 oz. overstuff that could theoretically get me down to -10.

I have camped in 110* and 18* that's a big enough spread for me...

We don't get extremes and that's why I live in this part of Canada. Coldest is -5c, hottest about 40c. I really like the 20-25c range.

Personal hottest was 97* on my first long-distance solo in Ocala National Forest. 100% humidity (it had just stopped raining) and no overhead cover across Juniper Prairie, at the end of a 17-mile unplanned (I had intended to stop at 6) day. Still a fun time! By the time I went to bed, the temps had dropped into the mid-80s and a slight breeze was blowing from the southwest, making for a very comfortable night.

Personal coldest was also in Ocala (notice a theme here?); it got down to 21* F by the US-19 trail head for the FT during the Saturday night of last year's 2nd Annual FL Hang. I got cold that night; the weather forecast had been for 35*, so I figured ten degrees colder would be okay. Not so much...

Not hoping to break the personal heat record, but the personal cold one would be nice...assuming that I have the gear to stay warm. Working on that...
