Lets Get some ripstop!

Is it just me or is it getting old looking for decent colors of ripstop?? Ok, it is late here in Ohio but I think I might have found a decent deal on some Kelly green 1.3 silnylon. They even have a little swatch on the website that shows you what the colors actually look like. Maybe Kelly green is not stealthy enough...i dont know, but it did not SEEM as bright on the website.

They seem to be competitive with the other suppliers we all frequent. They also appear to be a USA (Texas) based company so we would be supporting American made products.

Take a min to check out some of the "specialized fabrics". They make some really neat stuff. You can even buy some breathable membrane "gortex-like" stuff.

I was thinking a decent quantity of the green ripstop might have some "group buy" potential. $8/yd for 100 yards is not too bad at all. I would take at least 10 of it myself. It is 64" wide.

You can buy various 'suitable' colours of Ripstop (Nylon and Polyester 1.5-1.7oz) in ebay UK that are reasonable at around GBP 2.50/m (Sorry I have a US/Russian keyboard that does not have the Pound sign).

Anyway, they will ship to north America. The colours are anything from Electric Blue and Bright Green to more suitable Olive Green, Dark Grey, Black and Midnight Blue.

I have also found some good european websites that supply Ripstop in various colours and will ship worldwide as far as I know. - They also supply SilNylon.

If you need some info, let me know...

Thank you I will. I am just dumbfounded as to why the only colors "readily available" are the bright and loud ones. I will eventually find some somewhere! LOL

I have contacted the sales guy (same guy) and got a call back from him saying that they have firsts, seconds and closeouts on some of their fabrics. I was going to work a group buy, but just haven't had time to follow up. They actually have camo sil!

If anybody wants to take over trying to get something going here, I would be more than happy to let them take the reins. I think I still have his phone number and name at work.

Wow FF that IS a great little find. I am going to call them up Mon. I cant belive 1.1 camo! I am not a HUGE camo fan but I would certainly like to give it a try. I hope this one pans out.

I suppose the bright colors are because of the kite and parachute applications. Random theorizing aside, I would be interested in a good buy on some earth tone sil.
