Hmmm, just got six of them at our jcp...what to do, what to do... Wearable sleeping bag for late night trips to the can?

Anyone notice that the pockets are big enough that the whole jacket can be stuffed into one saving the need for the extra sack. Only problem is the zipper is inside out when you do it.

I just picked up 3-4XL's at St. Louis West County store and they had over 20 jackets left. I am going to make a summer UQ and possibly some JRB down sleeves.

Love the DIY projects thanks for the post.

Wow, this is funny. My brother and I did this same project last week before we even saw this thread. I would have posted it but the last thread I posted about finding a down vest got moved so I didn't bother posting this. We made an uq and picked up a couple jackets to wear. Pretty sweet deal.

They are really comfy jackets. More like wearing a super warm shirt than a jacket. Hubbie took the one xl I got for himself. I wish the ladies ones were on such a good deal too, but they were still 40$ or something.

Picked up 6 3xl last night. Not sure, but I think someone from here might of called ahead to see if they had any because the manager asked if I was the one who called.

Got the sleeves off one. Might make a neck warmer out of one of them. Going to make 3 under quilts for me and my boys. If I make them tonight I might double them up and let one boy use it this weekend.

booties are also in the future.

    Ridge Runner progress

After removing the sleeves and opening at the sides, one 4XL looks like it is going to fit the Ridge Runner pretty well. There is about a foot left exposed at each end.

At this point it is no sew (other than patching a couple of holes exposed by seam ripping to keep the down in). Ideally it would probably be best to sew and split the 3 channel side panels in half (perhaps at an angle) instead of ripping the side seams. At this point it is asymmetrical w/ one of the side panels on each end.

Next steps are to sew closed the head hole and were the zipper was. I also need to figure out the best way to run a suspension for the Ridge Runner...
