Amarillo, Tx has a rack full of large xl and xxl. Just bought 6 and hope to craft 3 UQs for the family.

I don't mind at all guys.

Finished up the quilt last night and suspension this morning. I laid in it for a while at 40 Deg (very light wind) and it was about its max for "comfotable" but as it started dropping I could feel the start of CBS. So I put my 2 spare front panels in between the UQ and my hammocka nd withing 3 minutes I was back to toasty warm already. The low tonight is supposed to be 30 so I will let you know how it does.

I'm contemplating buying some but it would be nice to know if it is going to be worth the project.
I put a pic up that has my DN, tarp, water bottle, quilt and sleeping bag for comparison. Hope that helps.

This looks great. I picked up 4 last night, all 3xlt. I'm hoping to be able to pull this off. I guess it's time to conquer that bobbin . Looking forward to hearing how your night went!

You did a great job! Can't wait to hear how low it goes. Would you say you are a "warm" sleeper by nature?

Are you able to lay at an angle with he tapered ends?

    Thanks,

nice work HB, the tapered end really hangs much better than I could have expected. how's the foot box room.

Would love to get some more feedback on the hang and weight.

I tore apart a blue 2xlt and 2xl and following HoneyBadger's pattern put together a single underquilt like the one pictured. I was pondering what I could do to extend the temperature range of this underquilt, when it hit me. Not only did I have two front panels left, but also 4 sleeves. I tore apart the sleeves and played with their arrangement for a while, and was able to put a second layer along the entire center strip (the back panels and front panels in Honey Badger's pattern). That's most of the underquilt as a double layer!

This is awesome at less than 24oz. My son has claimed it and wants to use it as a top quilt. Hopefully it will get us to upper 30's, maybe down to freezing with out wearing way too much. We'll see if it is big enough or if I will need to add some extra panels for a footbox and some extensions on each side.

Well, add one more to the roster of the puffer jacket quilt club. I came home with my first 7 of these today. (Some will stay as coats for wearing, but the majority are destined for the seam ripper!)

I'll get my first TQ and UQ made, and then try to figure out how to scale one down for the youngin'.... I'm guessing the same pattern that HB graced us with, but in a smaller sized jackets, might actually work out well.
