I never thought I'd be here. But this community has been great. The shared love of hammocks, and the adventures we take them on. I want to dedicate this thread and make it a tribute to a few folks who have made my time on the forum (and off of it) so great.
Papasmurf - First person to respond to my first post. I was sick of lugging around the 4 lbs Lawson BRCH, and ready to dive into the brave new world of ultralight hammocking with the Nano 7. Randy made me some amazing ultralight gear, has continued to help push the limits of light weight hammock camping with the new Darien UL, and is great to work with!

Dutch - I mean... what do I even say about this guy? What could I say that hasn't already been said? Easy on the eyes? Greatest hiker alive? Dutch is a great guy. He's taught me more about hiking than hammocking probably. I've enjoyed spending time on the trail with Dutch, and eating his food at MAHHA. Another fantastic vendor, he goes above and beyond, and has created so many innovative and affordable UL toys for us to buy, trade, and collect like Pokemon cards or Beanie Babies in the 90s. I even recall seeing the occasional "Joy Threads" started about him, where the OP says something like "Man, Dutch is so great!" Followed by pages of "Yeah, Dutch IS so great!"

Lazy River Road and Cranky Bear - These guys were the first from the Baltimore area to welcome me to the community. Enjoyed everything from trail time, to MAHHA's, to REI Members Only Attic Sale lines at 5 in the morning, to screaming "ADAM!!!" into the night on the AT with Dutch.

Adam - For being a great vendor, and somehow managing to keep so many of us 'warm at night'. But MOSTLY because the morning after we stayed up screaming "ADAM!!!" he walked out of the woods right where Dutch and I where making some food.

Jack - For always being willing to get on the phone and help teach me and explain solutions to hammock related problems. When I got my bridge he personally demoed it for me and explained how to get the best hang. Not to mention the fact that the UL Bridge is the most comfortable hammock I've ever owned.

(There's a bunch more, but these were the people that popped up often or in interesting places while looking back on my posts and threads.)
Thank you Hammock Forums, for making my time outdoors so much better that it has lead me to doing more, and subsequently having a lot more great life experiences.
