Please correct me if I'm wrong, but the only "negatives" I see with this hammock are:

    1. only one color "choice"...no big deal for me...

    2. no easy way to adjust the hang ie: whoopies/straps or biners/straps similar to ENO Atlas or Kammock Python...either of the above would be nice, but still doable without...

This is still a hammock (that I've never heard of 'til now) that I'm definitely interested in seeing/testing!...11' long, includes all necessary "accessories" to hang for a great price, etc...

Adjustment is fairly easy with the knot they teach. It will be adjustable until loaded.

Untying the knot might not be as easy as they claim.

I will wait for a review on the tubular nylon webbing. I think it will stretch over time - like a few hours under load. ;-)
    YMMV

The knot is a marlin spike hitch...just remove the biner/toggle to untie.

Hey guys, thanks for all your comments. It's great to here good things, especially from those within the community. We've always been open to receiving feedback and suggestions on our gear, so I wanted to tackle the question of whether the tubular nylon stretches over time, and if so, by how much.

In general, we've never noticed any significant stretching with the straps, but we'd like to take it a step further and actually do a test on it. As a first shot, we'll get a set of new straps and measure them before use. We'll then setup and load with ~300 lbs overnight and measure the straps the next morning. That should give us a gauge on how the straps stretch under short term load (6-8 hours). We'll post results with some pics or a video in a few days.

    Welcome to HF.

You might as well have it "rain" on the straps as well. I've heard reports that water contributes to stretching.

Out of curiosity, why not switch too polyester straps so the question of stretching would never be asked again?

    Hey there gmcttr,

How about we load the straps dry for 4-6 hours, measure, then wet them down, and repeat the test?

Just outside of Greenville. I like your compilation of sites to hang in NC. What's your favorite spot you think? We've been going to Uwharrie for the past couple years. Great time everytime.

No one special spot as I like them all. Just depends on how much time I have.

Sounds like a plan to me. It would be educational for us to know the rated breaking strength as well. Thanks

I've also read posts of hangers using tubular nylon without problems. I'm guessing the strength is so otherwise "overrated" for our needs that there isn't a problem. Only a guess though as I've always used polyester.
