UQ from a Czech Army Bedroll

Has anyone attempted or successfully modded a Czech army bedroll to make it an UQ?

I know the simpliest way to do it is just trapping a ridgeline between the sheet/blanket and bivvy outer with the buttons, just wondering if anyone has done anything else to make them more UQ friendly?

I would be more tempted to simply add this to a double layer, or directly under your bag. There will be no problems if there's a strong breeze going. I did look at these some time ago as a dedicated winter solution, but weight and bulk ruled it out for me.

A friend simply uses a summer back with reflective foam padding added inside it and directly below his winter bag with great effect.
Cost- About £20 and good for -7 (20f) and probably a bit more.

If you don't go far from your travel source, they make a great/cheap alternative. They are well made for the price.

Don't get me wrong, i've got a thermarest for if i bimble away from the car but was toying with the idea of making it more UQ-usable, the simple way does work, just pondering if anyone did anything else with them to use them as an UQ
