    Is this Right?

I just called the people at MyHammock.com and he told me that it would be an imposability to hang a hammock larger then 11' in a 10'X10' room. he seemed a little short and "all knowing" which leads me to doubt his 20yrs of wisdom... and anger me.. but any who is this correct?

    Thanks

With the sag I don't see why you couldn't. Never tried it but it seems like it would work. You could also go corner to corner I suppose. I'm sure someone on here will have experience in this.

What about on the diagonal? Would seem to fit with a 108" ridgeline.

With the sag, your looking about a 9' hammock. If you put continiuos loops on the ends, it will be very close, but should work, I think......RR

I don't know if this would help enough, -- but as I understand it, using a ridgeline will shorten the length needed to hang. Perhaps it would help shorten the hang enough to make it work.

i guess it depends on the type of hammock, my mayan needs 12'-6"
my brazillian needs 14-0', i dont think i could hang them with any less space.
of course a camping hammock could get by with a little less but you would have to get your anchor points at just the right hieght.

If my math is correct the diagonal of the room is around 14ft, which is plenty of room to hang your hammock from corner to corner

Lubbockhammockguy is right. Your 10X10 room is 14 feet corner to corner. Figure a bit of sag and you have more than enough room for your hang.

    Good luck
