Travel Sock too Short for WBBB??

I got my WBBB double layer 1.7 not to long ago and I have to say I love it! When I got it, I also got the Travel Sock. The quality of the TS is great and it does make it warmer inside, but it's too short for the hammock and the Velcro is making it fraying at the end of my hammock. It's also starting to do the same to the bug net... Does anyone else have this problem? It's not bad... But this is my first Black Bird, so I'm a little paranoid... I tried to upload pictures, but I couldn't...

I have a 1.1 DL Blackbird and the sock fits just fine for me. The way the sock is built, you should just be able to stretch it out a bit so that the velcro closes over the suspension near the gathered ends instead of on the hammock itself.

Try photobucket - it's free and you simply copy and paste a link into your post, pics show up in your post. Personally I prefer this method.

With that said I just received a sock from Brandon but have yet to put it up. I think I will go check it out right now.

Mine fits ove my 1.7 SL fine. I have to stretch the ends over a bit to get the velcro closed.

Perfect fit! In fact it's a little loose on both ends, I suppose that's what the rings at the ends are for. I just realized you have a 1.7, mine is a 1.1 dbl but I doubt it should make any difference.

On a side note, I'm really looking forward to seeing how well the sock performs outdoors this winter.

Hey thanks for the advise! Here are some pictures.

I can stretch it over the ends, but when I sit in it this happens

    http://s1298.beta.photobucket.com/us...tml?sort=3&o=7

And this is the damage... Not much, I know, but this is my first nice hammock

Again here is what happens when I sit in it after the ends are Velcroed together

Hmmm. How long is it across the top of the sock along the RL? Is there any slack at all for you to tie it from the little rings on the sock so it helps pull it out a bit? It looks pretty tight but I can't tell for sure.

Incidentally if you use the link that says 'IMG code' it will actually show the pics in your post rather than the links - which ever way you prefer is ok, just an FYI.

*edit* I just measured mine and it is 105.5" from ring to ring (pulled tight)

Yeah it's pretty tight. I can probably get the rings on the suspension, that might help. Mines 103" from ring to ring...

**Edit** Thanks for the "FYI" I'll try to do that next time.

Maybe Bubba will chime in with a measurement for his but I would probably email Brandon and ask.
