I like the strips... The stitching does make a blade-like shape at the ends, rather than following the edges of the strip, but it seemed thoughtfully and carefully done. I believe the idea is that the circle puts more stress on the tarp material just above the tie out, whereas this distributes it across a wider area.

I'd be interested to hear more discussion on it, but I was pretty happy to see it.

Strips, some thought went into that stitching, pretty sure it wasn't to save 3/10ths of a cent in thread. I am sure Brandon will chime in soon.

Yes, we changed the way we're doing our panel pulls. the new version is signifigantly stronger than the circle patch with slightly lower weight and bulk. it's very similar to the method used on the ground corner tieouts

Awesome! I noticed that it looked just like the corner ties. I have no experience in tarp making, nor any engineering education, but even at a quick glance it looked like a stronger solution to me. Thanks!

Update, w/out pics: Our scouting district held our winter camporee this past weekend. We set up Friday night, and the wind was blowing, not sure how hard, but it was bad. The wind continued all day Saturday and finally dies down Saturday night. The SF held strong all night and all day Saturday. The new panel pulls did there job and everything went great. Had plenty of coverage on my 133" hammock (ridgeline is 110"). No rain or snow, but with that wind, the SF will take most any punishment dished out by Mother Nature.......RR

That's a nice looking tarp. Mine will ship in about a week. Is this one of the best four season tarps around? It was the nicest camo pattern I could find. Similar to our cadpat that our military uses. It disperses outlines much better than normal woodland camo. There are two different camo prints for this tarp? One that repeats too much? I hope mine does not have this pattern.

The new pattern is the only one in this thread... If you ordered after Christmas it should be the new pattern... And also should have the newer stronger pullouts...
