    Talking Cloudburst and RidgeRunner pics

Well these pics will be old news for most of you, but it's exciting to have new gear and try it out!

Took the tarp and hammock out today for an inaugural test hang in my secret hanging spot in the middle of the city. Took advantage of the warmish +4 C (40 F) weather--it's to go down to -15 to -20 C (around 0 F) later this week.

Last week I hung the Edge over the RR and added doors. Workable with the doors attached but tight. Will have to find a way to protect the tarp from rubbing the spreader bars...

This week it was the Cloudburst's turn.

Man, the Cloudburst is a big tarp! I'm used to my little Edge.

    Pitched high, without pull-outs.

Tied out the corners ^shane^ style as per this thread: http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=25052 It's so simple and effective.

    Spacious!

    Cloudburst

pro: it covers the hammock completely. Pull-outs in the right place. Rings inside the tarp for pulling the bugnet up; also useful to string a line between for hanging light things. Good quality.

con: not catenary-cut on the bottom, so it takes more skill to get a completely taut pitch along the bottom edge. Panel Pullouts are necessarily far apart, so you can't connect them and use one pull-out stick+tie-down--it means always looking for lots of tall sticks.

By the way, the MEC "go" down pillow ($12) is awesome in the ridgerunner.
