    My new 20* Incubator

Huge thanks to the great folks at Hammock Gear for accommodating my trip this weekend. I cannot express my appreciation for the quality of their work enough. I now own a 20* Burrow and Incubator and both are exceptional.

Typically, I take the ratings on a sleeping bag and go ahead and add at least 15 degrees to it for comfort rating. Not so the Incubator. Last night, I took the 20* UQ down to 27 degrees and had no issues at all. In fact, I was the only member of our group in a hammock, and of the other three, two were freezing all night (in a tent, on cots) and the third was my son, who I put in a bag liner, inside a 50* fleece bag inside a 20* [ edit: 30*] bag with a catalytic heater in the tent.

I'm actually a little worried now that the 20* will be too warm this spring. Guess Adam and Jennie are going to get more of my money on a new UQ, because while I'm sure other vendors are capable of great work, I know HG will deliver.

I also have the incubator/burrow combo. It's tough to beat.

Agreed on accurate ratings. It's refreshing to have sleeping gear that brings the average person down comfortably to the stated rating, instead of just keeping them alive down to the rating. The difference between the two is one of the hardest things to explain to new scouts/parents looking to buy gear. There aren't many mainstream manufacturers that really get it right.
