Ok, my third and final cross-post. Also posted some stuff to my blog (see sig). I think next year we need a designated trip report thread starter.

Great to see everyone again and meet some new folks as well. Sad to miss old-timers like edhess and LD. I hope my pre-hang fasting paid off. I have yet to step on the scale.

Many thanks to all those that put forth so much work to pull this off each year (not mentioning names for fear of forgetting someone). We're truly blessed to have such a great core group which spills over to a great group overall.

Thanks to all of the vendors and hang attendees that donated raffle items. It's not often that my numbers are called much less multiple times in the top bracket. I'm stoked!

I checked and couldn't find any posts about it, so it looked like I was the first one to post photos and videos in a separate thread.

I can't wait to see more photos everyone took!

I am also trying to stick to the "One Thread" approach.
Interestingly, the first thread is closed so I moved it to a new one. (???)

(I finally found the ofishull thread. Jeesh! I'll now go back and delete the separate post.)

The 3rd annual hang was over for me yesterday. The hardiest continue through today.

I have to say "Best Yet"!!

Thank you's are in order to all for the success, but, especially to the following.

1.What I call the "CPU" of this thing
    Gumbo and Timberr
    Richtofla
    Islander
    LilRicky

The second tier of key players Taught classes , cooked specialty foods or led hikes or kayak excursions:

    Itsandy -Kayak
Shannon -several land navigation courses and crafts
    Busan321 Knife sharpening
    Samsara hammocks
    OldDog kids stuff
Black Wolf -smoked fresh hams to die for
Madd777 -specialty foods and hike leadership
Detail Man-Designed and fabricated the dinner bell
Flackfizer- started this thing "back in the day" It's sure got a life of it's own now. Thanks, Phil

    I know there's others, forgive me, I'm old. <G>

Third tier consists of all the folks who willingly volunteered as needed.
Too many to mention and many would be omitted if I tried to remember them all.

The event is a lot like a cruise line, with more than enough of everything.

I think this is the only recurring event I attend which has no one there that I try to avoid. You're all quite a bunch!! Thanks for coming!!

This trip was such a good time!

Even though I was only able to spend one night, I had a wonderful time hanging, and meeting all these wonderful people. They helped me enjoy my FIRST night in a hammock, and I'm realizing that it definitely won't be my last.

Thanks to all who helped organize this event, and especially those who helped welcome me to the group. Chuck, Gumbo, OldDog, Sigma Pete, Tuck, RichTorFla, Lil Ricky, O Boy, Timberrr, Vanguard, old4hats, the FLB, Detail Man and SkunkApe to name a few.

Also, thanks a ton to Lil Ricky and all of the wonderful sponsors for such a terrific raffle! I've already emailed Brian at B.I.A.S. to thank him for my new hammock!

Thanks again, guys. I will look forward to this next year!

Thanks everyone who came out and participated and made the Third Annual Florida Hang special. It's so great to be part of such a wonderful community. All of you make the task of organizing this hang each year a treat rather than the chore it could be.

My initial count says that we had 92 guests this year. Two of those flew in for just a few hours via helicopter.

I had only two disappointments all weekend. The first is totally my fault. I rolled out of my kayak on Friday and into Juniper Springs after failing to take note of the Islander example of last year. My I-phone is now an X-phone.

The second is that my beloved Chrysalis hammock has failed. I found a six inch tear in the fabric when we were breaking camp this morning. Emcee has a picture of that for me as the x-phone no longer has picture taking abilities.

Even so, I had a great time with great friends!

    More to come later.

Not sure where to post, as there are three trip report threads. If I may request, next year maybe we should designate one person to start the planning thread and the same person do the trip report. Sometimes it gets difficult to follow multiple threads. Anyways, what a blast of a weekend again this year! Met a lot of new people. Best of which was Running Feather. I really enjoyed solving world problems with he and Loki. If the rest of the Gorge rats are half as nice as RF, I need to definitely plan a trip there real soon! As usual, food flowed like water at this event. Dutch ovens, smokers and grills everywhere. Thanks to all who were crucial in making this event run like a machine. A special thanks to Shannon for fulfilling my request to do a navigation class. I definitely was very educated on the subject, as I'm sure others were too. Ok, now to count the days till the next one. get ready, here come the pics!

Is the tent with a tarp over it an inside joke?

Yes. It was right under my nose. I think I lost track of my coffee cup at least 10 times a day too!
