Looks like an awesome time guys! Hate that I couldn't be there. Would have been my first Florida Hang and by the looks of it, would have been an awesome time! Looking forward to being there next year

I love the group picture, which was posted in such a timely manner!!
My computer, running on a cellphone tether, slowly loaded the pic in full size. It started with an artsy tree ("what is this??" I asked myself) and slowly grew to show a face. When it was fully loaded, it reduced to screen size automatically.
I swear I could see freckles and warts (mine of course). Then it popped into screen size with the whole vista on one view.
Good work camera guys!!!

Well, Old4Hats told me he was going to make this hang when we were at the North GA hang last month but, being an Ex FL PAT, I just shook it off. (It couldn't be as cool as hanging in our mountains, I thought.) But I gotta say, I missed a very cool weekend and don't want to let that happen again. I see it is a very special group of people and a wonderful place to be.
FLRider, I've trained on many of these roads throughout the Ocala Forest. But never on a BEACHCRUISER! Really? and were you wearing a backpack, or what?
Heh. Yes, yes I was. She's seen something like 5,500 miles in the last two years, mostly on a local rail-trail, but a decent amount on north FL highways as well.
No, I was only wearing a Camelbak. My gear was strapped to the seat post. I show off how I'm doing that these days in the second video in this thread, at about 1:08 onward.
I do quite a few local bike trips, and I've been hacking at my packing system since day one. First, I carried most of it in a backpack. Then, most of it in a dry bag tied to the bike's rear rack. Then, back to the backpack. Now, I just use my pack as a cargo hauler, strapped to the bike supports. It works really well, but the rack definitely helps on the initial placement of the pack.

Vegas Update ... I put her on antibiotics when I arrived home .. the paw she was favoring started to swell .. I'm glad to say the swelling is gone and she's running around as normal.
I'm in hyper plan/prep mode for the rapidly approaching departure date (26JAN for me) hike begins on 03FEB, which is keeping me from writing an elaborate trip report on FH3.
I do want to say thanks to all of you that made it .. other then a few micro bursts of wind .. the weather made for a great weekend that allowed us all to spend quality time catching up with old friends, as well as getting to know new ones.
I never even took my camera out, so a big thanks to all those that did.
And an even bigger thanks to those that put it all together !!
With the biggest to all those that lent a hand in the whole scheme of the event ... to quote WV ... " Many hands make light work "
Thank-You !!
