Thanks to all for their hard work in setting up/running such a great event - Gumbo you are amazing and have inspired me to learn to cook in a DuchOven - you make a mean fruit cobbler!

Special thanks to VanGuard for letting the "big kids" play too (paracord bracelets) (My students have seen mine on my bag and now want to know how to make them - they're even thinking about making them and using them as a fundraiser for the charities that some of their clubs support).
(It was a gift that will keep on giving!)

So great to meet new friends and make great memories! It even inspired me to join the forums!

    Looking forward to next year,

It was so nice meeting you! Glad you had a great time.

Timberrr has suggested that I change the name of my mixed berry cobbler to "Bear Scat Cobbler" hoping the less enticing name will ensure he gets seconds!

Vanguard really came through for me too. I was supposed to teach the class on Survival bracelets, but ran out of time on a refresher course for myself to remind me how to make them before the class came around. And the quick release buckles sure made them nicer than the idea I had in mind.

You've got a year (almost) to get some of those DO recipes mastered before FH4. I'll volunteer to test them for you then. (I give and I give...)
You sure are brave since I'm just learning to cook in somewhere other than my homey kitchen... maybe I will have developed some skill by then. If not, I'm gonna take some lessons from your wife at FH4

Not sure if that name change will be successful for you - the smell alone will tell people it's worth trying - hate to burst your bubble. A rose by any other name...

You can count me in for some KP duty at FH4 if you need a hand

    "Bear Scat Cobbler"
That is an awesome name for it. I just love it.
Now, you know that when you hear it and the bell rings(oooh that wonderful bell), Everyone will know to come running and Tim's hopes and dreams will be forever dashed, thanks to his scheme backfiring. Sorry Tim, a standout name like that is easily distinguished from all the others. (Yummmm I can't wait)
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

You seem to have forgotten that we have two DOs.
So there will be two cobblers. One will be bear scat cobbler. The other will be... well... it'll be bear scat cobbler.

Too funny, I suppose now there will 2 cook sites as well. The main cook site for all and the hidden cook site with all our "special" DO, alcohol stoves, bushbuddies, etc working overtime and hoping no one finds them

Well I missed all the wonderful goings on at this hang.

But thanks to Andy, Timburrr & Gumbo and Detail Man we finally got the Suwanee River trip all planned so I can get down there and do some paddling. I'm so excited!!!

    The trip thread is HERE!

Some almost embarassing self promotion here, but I had conversations with more than a few folks about this and I said I would let everyone know when it was out. Well, it is out, and here is the Amazon link. This is my latest book this time published by Macmillan St Martins and out in both hardcover and kindle. The book is a long view story of George Washington, history, and my archaeology of his childhood home. Let me know if you have any questions and I hope you find it a rewarding read.

Congratulations on your new book and don't worry about the self-promotion. Your just helping us with some great hammock reading materials.
I love history and will look forward to this book. I would have loved to been there with you during your dig.
Also, I went to googlemaps to see current satellite view of Fredericksburg and now I want to go there and check out some of those trees. My hammy is asking for some Virginia hang time
