I don't know, 21oz for hammock, suspension, and netting seems fairly light to me.

Shows what I know. I bow to the more experienced. that is a good weight. Maybe I was thinking along the line of the ENO netting.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

I'm only picking at you cause I'm actually considering going to line and tree wrap on that particular hammock. It's the lightest I currently have and I feel that I might as well make it my gram-weenie hammock.

Pick away... If I am not correct that needs to be noted. No problem.

Thanks for the advice dudes! It's appreciated, and 1/2 the reason I spoke about what I did.
Before I got into the Jeeping hobby I wish I'd spent more time learning before I dove in, but it was still a fun ride regardless. I plan on doing the same with hammocking. I really only camp a handful of times a year (how many camping trips can you actually fit in one hand anyway?). Enough to want to get decent gear, but not enough to really want to spend a lot of dough on it.

I'm 5'11" and usually around 210-215lbs and WarBonnet's real name is Brandon.

I'd love to show up at a group hang some time, I checked the events threads and didnt immediately spot any locations nearby, I'll give them a once over again....

This is probably the closest in terms of distance I would think. I don't know Virginia's geography all that well. But its about 1.5 months away and promises to be a good collection of good folks.

Hmmm, almost 4 hours for me. Would indeed be an investment in time. Thanks for digging that up !

That about what it is for me coming from central PA. Not that means anything. People travel from all over. Group hangs are the best advanced master's class on hanging you can get.

    Hey Gatorsnax...

I am going to try to make the hang, at least for one night, and have an extra Hennessy Expedition A-sym if you'd like to use it before committing to a purchase. I still need to figure out my insulation, as I don't think a 35-degree bag and fleece liner will do the job without some kind of foam padding. Don't know what sleeping gear you've got, but the offer for the hammock loan is there if you want...
