Had a friend show up at a m/c rally and hang...looked cool. Googled, found this place when I got home. Got a hammock, and left it in the gear box for about two years while I continued to sleep on the ground. Old dog. Finally used it....have not been on the ground since. Love it...trying to talk everyone into it now. Like the hammock hawker or sumtin'.
If it moves, you can eat it. No promises you will think it tastes good.

Is it something you saw in a magazine ad? Is it something you saw on the trail? Or was it something your friends talk about?

I first started seriously considering hammocks after searching for DIY quilt instructions, when I came across Just Jeff's site. I soon realized that if I can sleep under a tarp on the ground, I can do it above the ground.
the rest is history! (thanks, Jeff!)

so, how'd you learn the ways of the Ewok?
well i got started with friends on a hike and once i tried it i was hooked

I saw some guys using them at a campground. Lookd interesting. We found out from them what they were using and order one.

I first tried a hammock years ago when we went to mexico, the hotel we stayed in had a hammock on the balcony. my hubby and i fought for the right to sleep in it that night . . . i won, woke up full of bug bites. . .bugs love me . . . . We bought our first hammock down there . .. .figured there had to be a way of keeping the critters off me, then found a mosquito hammock and loved it but put my foot through the netting one night and decided to make my own . . . several hammocks haven't looked back. we keep our tent as storage and changing room, they are good for some things. . .

Love camping but don't like the weight and size of tents. I was looking into minimalist options and stumbled across hammocks. My first experience was with a friend using whipped ended bed sheets. It got to below freezing that night and we had no UQs. Lots of lessons learned that night and still learning with every trip. That being said, we were hooked. Now I'm using a homemade ripstop nylon hammock. Small pack size, more in-touch with outside and light weight. Been hammocking for a little over a year now and I'm not looking back.

    Long time hanger

Used to hang with the natives in SA as a child. My dad was a missionary. Many nights sleeping in a traditional Indian made hammock. As a teenager bought my first military olive drab nylon hammock and went on a many camping trip with it. Now with a son of my own we purchased our first Hennessy hammock this past holiday season. Needless to say we're super excited about hanging together.
