I've used hammocks for years, but not in earnest until a few years ago when Scouting started to emphasize a lower impact camping style. I started with old tarps rigged as single point hammocks. I soon bought my first Hennessey Expedition 2.5 (snap-on) and was delighted! I used it at several summer camps because I snore pretty loudly. I recently upgraded to an Expedition zip because of the sale.

Ha. Definitely one word - SHUG!

Seems to be the proper evolution to my early days of a clunky car camper - to what I hope is a more refined eco-traveler.

And much of it owed to this site. And of course Shug. Thanks buddy.

3 years ago I messed up my back and it took 2 surgurys to kinda fix things. Before that I used to hike alot but after sleeping on the ground was not happening tried all different pads and matts. So after spending a few years doing nothing and getting fat I started taking short day hikes to lose some weight. I started to lose some weight and realized I miss hiking. Than I started looking into different pads and matts again and found out none worked and that was on the floor of my house so tenting out was still no option. Than someone recomended a hammock so after talking to people it seemed like this could be what I was looking for. Found this site put up a post on introduce yourself was told to talk to Brandon at Warbonnet cause he had made some triples for a few members here after talking with him he said a 1.7 double blackbird would be fine for my weight so I placed an order with him and waiting to get it hoping this works out so I can get back to longer hikes with my old friends and hopefully make some new ones along the way
