What made you a "hanger"?

I had a paddling buddy I was discussing my “camp back” and interest in a new 2 man tent for kayak camping. He said hold up until you come over to the house and see what I’ve been working on. After his reassurance that the Amsteel whoopies would hold all 320lbs of me, I settled into his DIY gathered end, and was ready for a nap. He wrote down the URL for the forum before I left and so began my addiction.

stumbled across claytor's site and had never thought of camping in a hammock before. Had to buy one.

Shug! I was searching alcohol stoves on you tube. I found Shug's stove video and really liked the way he presented them. It was then that I noticed his hammocking videos. Well it didn't take long until I was strung out!

I am brand new to hanging; just purchased my 1st (Hennessy Asym Zip Deluxe Explorer). After spending the last few years going up to Canada to canoe and sleeping on rock, I am interested in an alternative.

I look forward to going through the site and reading up and hammocks.

I am an avid backpacker/outdoors person, my buddy bought his first hammock which he intends to take on a 5 night trip. I started doing some quick math and instantly became intrigued. He suggests Warbonnet which I have only seen great reviews. I had mentioned ENO and he quickly steered me the other direction. There is a decent price difference and not a ton of weight difference. What are some of your thoughts/ suggestions???

That is too cool! I try to be an Inspirer......not an expert. Just go and learn from success's and failures.

I tore both rotator cuffs in a sports accident. That made sleeping on the ground an unpleasant prospect. I came across JustJeff's website whole looking for a backpacking sleep solution.

My buddy busted out his GTUL from sportsmansguide on a dayhike, while we were stopped for lunch. He set it up and let me try it out and I was hooked from then on. Still took me 3 nights of cold weather camping a couple months later before I finally found the HF boards.
