Quarter life crisis.
I spent most of the winter looking for a very light weight tent. I've never heard of a hammock used for camping. Then stumbled apon this website. I haven't even received my hammock yet and I don't think I'll sleep in a regular tent again.
Too old to be sleeping on the ground. Especially in the rain!
after a long hike up a hill, i was looking for ways to lighten my pack. not to mention the amazing comfort.
I have a coworker and friend "lord of the chicken wings" that introduce me to hammocks. couple of weeks back he let me use a couple of his hammocks and my son and I are now hooked. Ok more so me but i think i just need to get my son in the right hammock for him and he will love it too. i do not have my own hammock yet (I am shopping for one now). I am looking at a hennessy or warbonnet. first use of hammock for camping was the 3/29/13 - 3/31/13. Son is 19 and is looking to do more and more already.
I saw a bunch of posts from the BCUSA lot about hammock camping and just had to give it a shot. Now I keep my ENO Double nest in the truck at all times and usually slap it up during lunch at work between a few trees near the parking lot.
I love modern tech btw, I'm in my hammock now and talking hammocks with the world. Gotta love it.
I'm another BCUSA convert, someone posted a link to the Shugshuggityshugshug Youtube channel, and I was hooked. Glad to be off the lumpy ground!
Gravity.
When ever I'd go backpacking I pretty much just figured there would be a beautifully hike followed by a miserable night's sleep. I also do mission trips in Mexico where we camp. I don't care what you've heard about the sand it ain't soft. Its hard as a rock in the middle of the night. Being an engineer I had specs all drawn up for a hammock tent to build myself before I'd ever known such a thing existed. Took me a few years to get my mind around all this stuff but I finally found a good deal on a Clark nx250 before my most recent Mexico trip and the thing literally saved my trip as I through my back out the day before we left. Can't wait to get on the trail with it.
