I was reading Victoria Logue's 07 book*: "Hiking & Backpacking" yesterday, & on page 124 she says:

"If you are tired of rocks & roots disturbing your sleep, a hammock may be your best option. Forget the primitive-style hammocks in which Gilligan & the Skipper slept on TV, as hammocks have gone high tech. And before you go knocking hammocks, first make sure with whom you are speaking because they have quite a cult following."

No shame in animal sacrifices, as long as you eat what you kill. Animal flesh with a little char on it never did anyone any harm.
