I'm making a diamond tarp from silnylon. my design is different from others in that I am not putting the seam at the ridge line. The seam will be halfway down the side. My question is... should the folded part of the seam (I'm using the hybrid version) be on the inside or the outside. If it is on the inside, it should likely be sewed against the uphill section so the rain does not filter into it... if on the outside, it should be rolled to the lower end so the rain will run over it. Any thoughts appreciated. obviously, it will be seam sealed.
If you seam seal then water won't get inside either way...It still doesn't stop me from trying to be uniform and always put the fold on the inside. I just fine it to be a bit more aesthetically pleasing and lessens the potential for water to seep into the seam (again, shouldn't happen if sealed properly).

agree that a properly sealed seam will not seep, but Murphy has my number...
