    Warbonnets strap suspension with buckles

In over 2 yrs of owning a hammock by WB I have never bothered to take alook at or even use the strap suspension that I always ordered with the vaious hammocks. So I got a set out and installed them on my RR and I must say,,simplicity in its finest. Simple to use, and less pieces and almost the same weight as previous suspensions I have used.

6' whoopies w/pair of 6' tree slings came out weighing 4.7 oz.
I always used nano 23 beiners.................................1.6 oz for the pair
    total weight 6.3 oz.
Add extra length of looped amsteel and couple of loops and your weighing a dash more as I always carry this extra just for emergencies.

WB strap suspension with buckles.............................6.6 oz.
include couple of Dutch Clips,,........................approx 0.5 oz.
    total weight 7.1

Going to use them as I figure with the RR,,,I can trim the straps down a little if I want, and the weight is about the same.

SRS suspension is alittle less, but not by much. I haven't tried the UCR suspension system, but I must say again, Brandon's strap system is well thought out and simple to use with less pieces involved. Just wanted to post this as figured you people would post what your using and weight for the heck of it as well.

I have used them a great deal and they have always worked well.

Been saying it for awhile now. Tiny weight increase...less pieces to lose...great for me!

I have been actually ordering them and replacing the suspensions on my wife and kids hammocks.

I'm with you Acer, just put them back on my RR with some Dutch Biners between the triangle and the straps. Can remove them if they are sappy, but just so easy to adjust, especially with a longer hammock like the bridge.

    Cheers

I too am using the straps .You can shorten the distance between trees well with them. My straps are experiencing alot of stretching in the very cold temps. Does this come from trying to use them with woopie slings ,or is everyone seeing this happen.
I didnt like the woopies it added too much to the hang distances between trees for me. When i switched back the straps seemed to stretch alot. This could be related to some really cold weather im hanging in too. Do straps stretch alot in the cold?

I believe in the KISS principle...Keep It Simple Stupid and the Warbonnett strap and buckles are simple to use. I have tried Whoopies and like how light weight they are but they make it much harder for me to set up my DIY hammock with Whoopies becuase of the extra distance I need between two trees. I spend 5 minutes last weekend wrapping tree straps around two trees trying to take up enought slack so I could use the whoopies and all the while I was thinking...if I had my BB straps on this thing I would already be in the hamnnmock instead of still trying to set it up. When i got home I took the whoopies off and put on the straps.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
