TQ Width?

I'm planning on buying a HG TQ and I'm in between getting the regular and the wide. I do roll around a bit when I sleep, so I was thinking the wide. I am a skinny, 6' er. Any experiences or suggestions?

They tuck in real nice against the hammock and you but if in doubt get the wide.

I am a bit thick across the shoulders and had been considering the extra wide for my HG 20* burrow. I opted for the standard width and have been happy with that choice. I roll around much less and sleep deeper with the down underquilt than with any other covering.

I do, however, regret that I did not step up to the sewn footbox. The snapped footbox can be drafty and I have yet to un-snap it.

I have the sewn footbox, regular length and extra wide. I'm 5'10" and 170 lbs. Couldn't be happier with the choice. I also toss and turn a bit in the hammock and like taking my turn on my sides. Much less than I used to on the ground, but still enough. The wide is perfect to give me the extra room to do so without the quilt pulling out from under me as I turn or move a bit on my side.

Go for the extra wide. It's worth it in your case.

CB200T, I am 6'-1" and 200# and I make my top quilts 40" wide and they cover me completely. I am a tossing side sleeper. However, I do have to make sure everything is tucked in each time I turn. So, I think their 50" standard width would be more than adequate for you. I would only go with the 55" wide quilt if I were going to use it as a ground quilt also.

I'm 5'7" 235lbs, wide in shoulders. I have both reg and wide TQ's. My reg sized TQ NEVER gets used. I roll so much in my sleep that I always end up outside of my reg width TQ. I also always now get the long version, I have this need to always flip the material down by my feet underneath my lower legs, can't do that with reg length lol.

I'm getting another quilt made by Underground Quilts and it is in their widest selection. Another nice feature of getting a wider quilt is that it can be used as a couples quilt should you find yourself going to the ground with wife...sometimes I can't convince mine to just hang seperatly so we will use a tent every now and then...the wider TQ are a great multi purpose piece of gear. I also like the extra width so I can let my doggie bunk in with me on particularily cold nights. A wide TQ is a multi functional piece of gear while a reg width quilt really only has one function.

Im using a ridge runner rather than a gathered end hammock, so it doesnt cocoon like a reg gathered hammock, that was the other reason i was wondering about the wide version.

i have to agree , if you will be using it for going to ground the extra width helps keep out drafts

I'm 5'10, 170lbs, and I went reg. length, wide, half taper. Just got out of it a few minutes ago, and I love it (I move around a lot in my sleep, woke up on my stomach, no cold spots, don't have to re-tuck every time I move). I have a RidgeRunner as well.
