    ??Working with down??

O.K. I have bought 8 of the JCPenny puffer jacket that I am playing around with and I have a couple of Big Agnes down bags and a down coat that has quite a few burn holes taped up on it. I want to use the down out of these items for different projects but I am wanting to know if I can wet the down to work with it? I have down wash that I use to clean my down products so I know that it does not hurt it to get it wet but I was just wandering why no one does it that way? It seems like it would be so much easier to work with if it is wet or at least damp to keep it from flying everywhere. Anyone have a reason not to do it this way? It has taken me a while to man up and decide to split open my nice Big A bags but the time has come and I'm ready to do the deed

    Thanks!!

just a thought,,how you going to weigh it to get exact amounts in each baffle with it wet? Wet down also might stick to everything like glue. Never heard of anybody using wet down before,,but anything is worth a try. good luck in your endevours.

I am making a Karo step quilt, I was thinking with that I would put all the down in from say one of my Big A bags and once it was sewn up I could throw it in the dryer and when dry I could work the down around as needed. Do you think that would work?
