Hi,
What is the lightest hammock on the market without a bug-net built in for someone 6'2'' (185cm) 150 pounds (70kgs).
Alternatively do you know of someone who has done a DIY ultralight of the same sought for someone of the same build?
Cheers.

Bias weight weenie micro is the lightest as far as I know, also check out sgt rocks ghost hammock. Sorry, I'm on my phone so I can't give you links but I'm sure others will chime in with them. At your weight you could also consider a diy M50 hammock.
You could make a DIY M50 hammock. Mine came in a 5.5 oz.
I second BIAS hammocks. I am 6'2" at 180 and own a wwm and love it. its been my daily sleeper since i bought it last August.

My forum name is Fish<><; I'm in the navy; and I hate sleeping on the ground. If I didn't need ground to walk on or measure resistance to, I think I could happily give it up.
BIAS Micro. I love mine.
If you ain't havin' fun, you're doin' it wrong
I would sway from the thought of a m50. After seeing one fail in the middle of a cold wet snowy night it just doesn't seem to be a good fabric for hanging.
I'm doing it wrong....
Ooh, is it on a thread somewhere? I have been considering m50 and have been attempting to keep up with the diy m50 threads for weight limits, failure etc. as I am in the UK, lowish on funds and the cost of importing a material that may or may not be suitable for me has been preventing me doing so. This could put an end to my quandary!
Sorry for going off topic!
With fear of getting some of the details wrong, I'll PM the member who's hammock ripped and have him tell the story.
I'm doing it wrong....
Cheers for all the info the m50 and ghost hammock are light for sure but i prefer gear that lasts. Dont like throw away kit i am happy to weigh a few extra grams for gear that will last a few years. The Bias Weight Weenie Micro Looks like my sought of thing plus the bug net. Havent gone the DIY route yet but as my style becomes more specialised i am seeing the plus side of doing my own gear although generally for all the stuffing around i can find someone that has already developed the gear i am after. Thanks again for all the info guys this forum truly is a fountain of knowledge
Look into the Darien UL Hammock, available from PapaSmurf and Dream Hammocks.

Final weight in the stuff sack, ready to hang = 12.85oz.
What is the weight limit?
Although the fabric and suspension should be capable of handling 220-225 lbs, our recommended weight range is 200 lbs or under.
Will my hammock weigh 12.85oz?
The 12.85oz weight is before the change to whoopie hook suspension. Adding the whoopie hooks may bump it up slightly. The final weight may change slightly as the design develops. Also, since these hammocks are built one at a time, sometimes slight variations will determine the exact final weight. I will update the weights as soon as I can after finish a few.
I used to be a somebody, now I just camp.
