    Adblock

I've been hanging around here for quite a while now and I'm realising that it's high time I became a donating member but one question before I do...

Will the ads in the top right of the screen stop when I pay my subs?

They are quite subtle and I am aware that they are not everyday ads from big corporate companies. They are the cottage manufacturers that many of us choose to support but, like all types of advertising, I would prefer to seek them out when I want them and not to be constantly bombarded.

Please don't take this the wrong way. It's an enquiry not a demand.

They do not no (at least have not for me) but as you mentioned they are very low-key and are supporting our local vendors.

That's a good question I was wondering about that myself. Thanks Dragon360.

Is there a way that people could opt in or out maybe?

No, they don't for me either, I find them to be one of the little quirks that make hf unique and they don't interfere with browsing in the slightest.

Do I detect a feint hint of sarcasm?

Craige, can I ask you...did you pay your subs using PayPal?
If so, do they hit you with extra charges because it's an international transaction?

I don't trust those greedy thieves.

In order for Hammock forums to get your subscription fee, you pay an extra 61 cents in paypal fees mate.

Actually donating members can indeed turn off the ads via the UserCP.

Think I can cope with 61 cents.
