Great news. Is it an option only for donating members?

Yes, it is one of the membership perks. It is rarely used though.

FWIW, HF only accepts ads from hammock related vendors that are active on the forum. We think that not only keeps the amount to a minimum, but also rewards those vendors that support this community.

I totally agree with the philosophy but personally I would like the option to turn them off.

Thanks for the info. My subs are in the post.

Although it's an option to turn them off, I never have and do not find it to be a distraciton.

In fact, I sometimes find myself refreshing the page for the sole purpose of changing the ad in order to find a vendor I am searching for rather than going to a search engine.

As they say HYOH. It's great that we have choices. Some like....some don't.

No worries. The option is there for DM's for just that case.

Being someone who is both new to the forum and new to hammocking in general, not only do I appreciate the ads, but I have utilized them a handful of times already. In fact that's how I found Dutch. Just my .02 grams

idk how much HF makes from running those ads but if every one disabled them they would stop making money,

they dont bother me at all, the only time i see them is for the 1/2 a second that im at the top of the page
