I just entered some stuff into geargrams.com for my trip on Friday. Pack weight not including clothes worn, food, or water is 19.5 pounds. That's for my 0* quilts, heavier down jacket, and insulated pants.

Everyone's level of comfort in winter is personal, so ymmv....

I posted this last weekend. I slept in the system at about 6 degrees and a lot of wind a day or two later.

8-1/2 pounds base weight for everything including the kitchen sink. Add 2 lb food for each day and 2 lb water unless there is a great distance between springs.

Hammock, underquilt, top quilt, sock, extra clothes, cuban tarp, cook set, rain gear, dop kit, food bag.

Thanks to all who posted. It is amazing how much information there is available on this site. It is also nice to see that really there is no right or wrong way of "hanging". Some ways are more successful than others, but it seems that most people just figure out what works best for them, and use what they have available. Thanks again for the info...

I'm jealous! My pack is at 16 lbs with food and fuel but no water and my setup should be good for about 25-30 degrees

I just finished up my loadout for 30ish degree weather. It comes in at about 13.5 lbs minus food and water. I plan on trying it out this weekend.
