    Question about the lite owl

Does it have the double layer bacon like qualities that the night owl has?

I don't own either yet but from what I understand the lite owl and night owl are both double layer hammocks. The snipe is a single layer hammock

Correct. Both are double layer. The difference is that the Night Owl is 1.5 ripstop nylon, coming in at 27 ounces total and the Lite Owl is 1.1, coming in at 20 ounces total. The Night Owl can hold a bit more weight because of the thicker fabric (although both are fine up to 250 or even higher).

i'm not sure what you mean by bacon like?

the LiteOwl is doub. 1.1 which is much softer than the 1.5 of the NightOwl.
i own and use both and i haven't found any bacon in mine, dang it!

There is no bacon in a lite owl. If there were I'd have nothing to lay in. Seriously it's the same as a nite owl, just lighter fabric from I understand.

I don't have a Night, but my Lite is downright luxurious. My Snipe isn't as luxurious.

I wonder how a bacon hammock would work out. Now I'm hungry.

    yep... black vs coyote ... 1.5 rs vs 1.1rs ... 27oz tpw (tot.pack wt.) vs 20oz tpw.
i find them both to be equally comfortable.
