    Smile UGQ Products Rock!

This is my first thread on hammock forums but I just had to post this. Being new to the hammock community I just started down the path to hanging a little over a month ago (however have been backpacking for many years) and so I sold lots of backpacking gear and bought two WB Blackbirds and then started looking for insulation. After lots of good things to hear about most all manufacturers I decided on UGQ in large part due to the options you have with colors, temps, etc. I finally recieved my 2 Zeppelin UQ's and Flight Jacket TQ today and I can't express how impressed I am by the craftsmanship and quality of the product particularly coming from a small company. I mean the materials used and the quality of down and loft is better than what you find on most all major brands. Being a big Marmot fan, in large part due to their high quality sleeping bags, I always felt that they were the standard on down and sleeping bag materials and I still believe they are but Paul and the gang at UGQ are right there with the best. With some of the other small cottage type companies that I have experience with I always felt like they were doing a good job but that there may be small mistakes or flaws due in large part to not having the expensive sewing machines, etc. to do the job to the standard of large companies. The stuff from UGQ is built every bit as well as anything I've purchased, flawless and well thought out. I'm still new to this whole thing but I know quality when I see it and UGQ has it figured out. Much praise and great job to Paul and his crew at UGQ!

I agree with everything you said above as I have quite a few of UGQ's quilts myself. Very nice quilts and workmanship!

Agreed! Waited two months for a quilt from Nunatak; nice quilt but I received my flight jacket in two weeks. gave the Nunatak to my daughter, kept the flight jacket and ordered a 20deg flight jacket from UGQ. His wait times have increased by a week or two but that's a non-issue with me. As for Marmot being No.1; Feathered Friends and Western Mountaineering might put up a good fight! Honestly: his quality is top notch and he is great to do business with.

I don't have any of his products yet... but I'm waiting on a tarp to arrive any day now. I had the pleasure of being neighbors with Paul and Missy at the FL hang earlier this month and had a great time visiting with Paul (really nice guy). When he pulled out some of his gear to show to people it was very obvious that it was very well made and well thought out. I heard several people say that they were going to be buying stuff from him soon.

It's pretty tough to go wrong with any of our long standing cottage folks. The good ones stick around and they all seem to be nice folks (they are hammock folk after all )

I recently contacted Paul for a custom TQ and UQ. He is such a great person to deal with, was able to answer all of my questions and was just so helpful.

I ordered a Hanger 12 about a week ago, can't wait until it gets finished and shipped! Why doesn't UGQ have a sub-forum like the other guys? And ditto about Paul and Missy, two of the nicest people you'll ever meet! And also newlyweds!

If you are a perfectionist then Paul's quilts will not disappoint.

As to why he does not have a subforum... I think the "magic" number has not been reached yet. Maybe Paul will get lucky and the monkey at the control panel will slap it soon.

Having seen Paul's work, I can say it's a thing of beauty. I know Timberrr was impressed by the one we saw at FH3. His birthday is coming up in a few months and his admiration of it makes it a winner of a gift for me to give him.

    Great Tarps and Quilts

I was looking at several different winter tarps, but after seeing the winter dream in person, it was an easy choice for me. I am looking forward to a set of his quilts to fill the middle range in my insulation options.
