HOT weather top quilts

I'm currently making a fleece TQ with a weather-shield mystery fabric sewed on top. Rather than sewing the footbox, I decided to use a draw cord and possibly buttons or snaps to connect the edges up the TQ about 16-18 inches.

My thought is that when the nights aren't cooling down too much, I'll just use it as a flat blanket, but when the nights are cooler (spring and fall) I can synch up the footbox.

Cotton sheet or poncho liner both sound like good options.

In SC, I might avoid the "wet the sheet" idea, especially if the humidity is high (above 70 or 80 percent). Here in FL, wetting something DOESN'T guarantee evaporative cooling, as evaporation may not occur much at all when the relative humidity is high. So, you may be adding water to the sweat you're definitely going to generate in your sleep.

Make sure to use this trick primarily when the humidity is low.

Fleece equals sweat. I usually just have my bag laying on me until about 2am then i get inside it. A fleece anything would be too hot in my opinion.

I know that my summer time hanging usually involves a lightweight fleece TQ at most. And that usually hangs out on my ridge line till I need it. I also have a fleece UQ that I will carry if the night time temps are going to be below 80, which really isn't much of the summer.
