    Tarp Guylines & Ridgeline

Has anyone used PMI accessory line (2mm, 3mm), sold at REI, for tarp guylines and/or continuous ridgeline? Pros/cons, successes/failures, tips/tricks?

    Thanks
    Scooter

In theory, there's no difference between theory and reality.
    In reality, there is.

The only stuff I've seen at REI looks way overkill for a tarp. Zing it, Lash It, or some stuff from Zpacks.com will be your best bet. IMHO.

The con would be that it's nylon and will stretch slowing your tarp to sag over the corse of the night.

The advantage would be that you can get it right away. Of course there are shops here that provide many options for good no stretch cords that could be ordered and to you by the weekend.....cough....

    Hollow braided polyester 1.0mm line

Hollow polyester 1mm line with a BS of about 100lb is light and strong enough for the tie-outs. People will have different opinions about whether to suspend a tarp with such stuff.

Black, splices easily with a darning needle. But, black as in stealthy black.

$5.50 will get you 120ft, mailed in a 1st class envelope, in USPS we trust.

Delivery confirmation etc extra. Paypal account is my handle here, with gmail.
