I've seen Oregon Scientific home weather stations advertised that have WiFi, they piggy back off a home computer to fetch NOAA forecasts.

The handheld device I have makes its call based on changes in pressure and temperature. Claims to be 70% accurate. About the accuracy you get from the TV weather guys!

Okay so if the Barometric pressure starts rising it will say chance of rain or something of that nature ehhh?

Oohhh and you talk about weathermen being 70% accurate......you obviously have never lived in texas. I swear they could hire a hobo to forecast the weather and he would be about as accurate as the weather guys there. Just so impossible to predict Texas weather.

Probably not... if starts falling, it might.

    Also, what's this about 70%?

I always thought the following weather forecast was correct 80% of the time:

"Tomorrow will be just like today."

Managed to grab a stopwatch/alarm clock/digital compass/thermometer with min-max feature for like 16 bucks today at wally world. Should be nice to use out on my backpacking trip this weekend. Hopefully this thing is accurate
